French's Dome

We woke early to hit the road and beat the crowds to French’s Dome. The weather was great and this stand alone rock is an incredible piece made of andesite a fine grained volcanic rock. The routes challenged us in a different way due to our first time climbing this type of rock. The routes filled up quick with each belay station with groups of 3-4 climbers and groups waiting their turn.

We look forward to returning with the hopes of completing the 2 pitch route Giant’s Staircase.
